Sweetheart Mini-Sock


A delightful scrap bag interpretation of Bargello, this little design makes a great group project. Students pool their stashes of pink and red threads and then choose from the piles to make the hearts. Each finished project is unique and delightful. 18 mesh Kit Fee: $15

Round Robin Mini-Sock


Students chooses a color palette and brings threads from stash. The student works the first patch in an overdyed thread and then moves on to another stocking. Using the threads chosen by the ornament's owner, the stitcher then stitches a patch in each of five stockings, ending up with a charming remembrance of happy times stitching. 18 mesh Kit Fee: $5

Scrap Bag Mini-Sock


Selected patterns, such as Rick-Rack, taken from Scrap Bag Needlepoint (tm), offered as half-day workshops. The background thread is provided in the kit, and students provide threads from scraps and stash to make each stocking unique. Kit includes Scrap Bag Needlepointª book, which has patterns for twelve different designs. 18 mesh Kit Fee: $35

Converting Quilt Patterns to Needlepoint


This half-day workshop shows how to take a quilt pattern and convert it to a needlepoint design using box stitches. Patterns for three ornaments are included in the kit as examples. Students are given a number of hand-drawn quilt patterns and graph paper in order to practice the method. This practice design is then stitched on 14 mesh plastic canvas to make a quick ornament. Kit Fee: $10

Blackwork Sampler


This full-day class is an introduction to many types of Blackwork patterns, this sampler uses silk threads to make a block design (one pattern per block), with a saying in the middle. Students provide threads and fabric. 18 count Aida. Kit Fee: $8

Blackwork Log Cabin


A full-day class which creates an unusual blackwork sampler, done on canvas in overdyed floss and silk pearl. This design has great dramatic impact because of the color changes, but is simple enough to serve as an introduction to blackwork on canvas. 18 mesh Kit Fee $40

Napa Valley Mustard


Create an unusual embellished box in this full-day workshop which uses a variety of Tent Stitch techniques to mimic redwood siding, hills, vineyards and stone walls. Although the results look fancy, the work is simple. 18 mesh Kit Fee (includes box, beads, and line-drawn canvas) $60

Napa Valley Garden


Another Napa Valley Landscape, this embellished box shows off the beauty of Napa in the spring. Delight in the brown shingle cottage with roses, wisteria, delphiniums, and more flowers. Kit Fee (includes box, beads, some threads and line-drawn canvas) $70
